By Clydeside Distillery

Do you want to do something a bit different this year for Valentine’s Day? Are you more interested in spend some quality time together rather than buying gifts? Here are some Valentine’s Day ideas for you to go out and about in Glasgow.

Events on Valentine’s Day

Even though Burns Night was technically last month, you can continue the celebrations with the romance comedy show The Ghosting of Rabbie Burns, written by Gillian Duffy and on at the Oran Mor. Some live, romantic laughs on Valentines Day are sure to win over your sweetheart! This show  features some of the great Burns songs and poems that are perfect for a Valentine’s Day evening such as My Love is Like a Red Red Rose, Ae Fond Kiss… the list goes on!

End the week and start a Valentine’s Day weekend off at The Glee Club, Glasgow who have some superb stand-up comedians lined up for their usual Friday Night Comedy. There are a range of admission tickets with options for food and drink. Enjoy an evening in the town with some up and coming comedians!

Enjoy an evening at the Platform Argyle St Arches. Open until midnight, the event brings together some of the best, Scottish independent street food stalls with a great, lively atmosphere in the evening. Sit and enjoy some fresh and delicious food in one place at one of Glasgow’s urban venues.

Glasgow’s Clydeside Attractions…

A walk down along The Clyde can offer some stunning views, fresh air and a good opportunity to pop by some places along the way…

Radisson Red

First stop off along the way: one of the newest hotels in the area! A great rooftop bar with fantastic views down the River Clyde. Great atmosphere and drink offering. Always a good option pre gig at the SSE Hydro or SEC.

Riverside Museum

A free attraction in Glasgow, you could easily spend a few hours here looking around the museum and also visiting the Glen Lee (otherwise known to us Glaswegians as The Tall Ship).

Cineworld IMAX @ Glasgow Science Centre

Are both of you film buffs? Love holding hands at the movies? Visit the Glasgow Science Centre and be immersed in the ultimate movie screening experience at the IMAX. We highly recommend seeing 1917, the recent multi award-winning movie directed by Sam Mendes, which features one scene filmed at the Govan Graving Docks. These docks are located across the River Clyde from us and held huge importance when the Clyde was once bustling with ships! Head along to the distillery before the film for a tour or a drink before a short walk across the water.

Clydeside Distillery Tour

Spend the afternoon touring Glasgow’s first dedicated Single Malt Whisky distillery in over 100 years. Explore Glasgow’s heritage through the Queen’s Dock and the connections our family has to the whisky industry & Glasgow. See our distillery men handcraft our Clydeside New Make Spirit in the different production areas on site before sitting down in our comfortable, stylish tasting room and enjoying some wonderful 10-year-old whiskies.

Upgrade from The Clydeside Tour to the ultimate sensory experience, our Chocolate & Whisky Tour. Indulge in the unique pairings between five single malt whiskies with local, artisan chocolates, made by local chocolatier, Sugarsnap. Each whisky has been expertly paired with a certain chocolate to enhance or highlight new notes in the whisky. A sublime whisky pairing and tasting!

Lunch Date at The Clydeside Café

Enjoy our Taste of Scotland Platter for Two and whisky flights in our sumptuous Clydeside Café. Travel along Scotland’s coasts to Inverlochy with fresh salmon, to The Isle of Mull for some Strathdon Blue cheese then up to the Highlands with venison salami from the Great Glen, some classic Tain cheddar and brie. We relish in presenting Scotland’s finest produce for you to enjoy. Our food is freshly prepared using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients and our menu is carefully chosen to showcase regional specialities!

Our whisky flights showcase some of the classic and some lesser-known malts from Scottish distilleries in the five different Scotch Whisky regions. Starting with some classic, younger whiskies to a more premium selection of drams. Accompanied with oatcakes, Scottish cheese and homemade chutney as the perfect palate cleanser.

Not a whisky fan… We offer a full drinks menu including wine, prosecco and gin!
