The Clydeside Distillery X SWG3 X Jim Lambie

Velvet Odyssey sees neighbouring businesses SWG3 and The Clydeside Distillery, and world-renowned visual artist, Jim Lambie, join forces to create a limited-edition Clydeside Single Malt.

Created to mark SWG3’s 20th anniversary, the unique whisky uses water from Loch Katrine and 100% Scottish barley and has been matured in first-fill Bourbon Barrels before spending a further five months finishing maturation in a single Sherry Butt, which had previously held Pedro Ximénez (PX) Sherry. 

The whisky packaging is decorated in the artwork of SWG3’s long-time friend and world-renowned artist, Jim Lambie. His iconic Paisley Pattern artwork – which was originally made by placing vinyl onto a white Daimler Limousine taken from our former wedding car garage and displayed at the COMME des GARÇONS Guerrilla Store back in 2006 – has been revisited here to decorate both the whisky’s bottle and tubing, whilst paying homage to one of the very first pieces of art to be created at SWG3.

The exciting collaboration has produced a unique whisky with a nose of bright orange zest, pecan and rich plum jam, a palate with notes of poached pear, sticky raisin and cinnamon sugar, and a finish of crystalised ginger and tangy apple peel.
